Brand new track ‘Walk Away’ taken from Charlie Sloth‘s DEBUT ARTIST ALBUM ‘THE PLUG’ ON AUGUST 18TH featuring Bugzy Malone, Stormzy, Ghetts, Giggs, Avelino, Lady Leshurr and many more.
Producer, DJ and grime connoisseur Charlie Sloth commences an exciting new era in his career when he releases his debut artist album ‘The Plug’ on August 18th. The first set of original material that Sloth has produced, masterminded and co-written, ‘The Plug’ features a who’s who from the urban community with Bugzy Malone, Stormzy and Giggs standing alongside breaking talent such as Aystar, Fredo and Lola Rae.
Obviously, best known for his work at 1Xtra and Fire In The Booth, Charlie Sloth has been producing for over ten years for everyone from old school icon Rodney P to ‘Course We Do’ from Giggs’ most recent album ‘The Landlord’. Having cemented his reputation as a DJ, Sloth feels that it’s the perfect time for him to make the transition to becoming an artist and producer in his own right.
‘The Plug’ is available to pre-order NOW and Sloth has already dropped a handful of instant grat tracks – ‘#FameGame’ (feat. Bugzy Malone), ‘Running’ (feat. Ghetts & Abra Cadabra), ‘Wake Up’ (feat. Giggs) and ‘Walk Away’ (feat Donae’o & Konshens). Their eclectic nature hints at the diverse sounds that can be expected from the album.
A scorching summer smash in the making, ‘Walk Away’ is a world apart from anything that Sloth has released before. His production is rich with authentic reggae traits and organic instrumentation, while Donae’o’s soulful vocal provides its irresistible hook, and Jamaican dancehall star Konshens delivers its scintillating Caribbean vibe.
‘The Plug’ is the latest chapter in Sloth’s journey through sound that started when he discovered NWA when he was a child. It also comes at a time when the scene is quickly becoming a mainstream lifestyle. “Are these the glory days? No, this is just the start of it,” he affirms. “The artists who are just coming through now will live the glory days, and there’ll be a ten-year spike of greatness.”
