Nigerian Rapper, Alpha Releases New Single ‘Butterflies’ Featuring TOD

A smooth, melodious, mid-tempo blend of lush 80’s-style synths and 808s, “Butterflies” is Alpha’s ode to the struggle to balance 9 to 5 life and an undying passion for music, in the ever-demanding city of Lagos, Nigeria.

Alpha, born Ebuka Alex Ojini-Ntamere, is a Nigerian rapper, record producer and audio engineer. He is fully responsible for his sound, and boasts production credits for other rising stars such as Maka, Fortune Angelo, P1 Marley, TOD, and Gillian Baci.

In 2014, he submitted an entry to MI Abaga & Star Music’s “Best Rapper in The East” competition and won.

Despite a 3-year hiatus, he has steadily garnered a considerable underground following. His 2011 cover of Common’s classic, “Blue Sky”, has been critically acclaimed as even better than the original.

Drawing from a true life experience here on “Butterflies”, Alpha’s verses personalise music as his love interest who gets jealous because he spends too much time at work. This fire joint features Afro-House songstress TOD.
